Role Description

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of websites hosted by Netflare.

We are looking for an effective communicator and team player. You must be comfortable with working for a small company (currently 5 staff) and be able to work flexible hours. If you have the necessary skills that can add to our team, we are interesting in speaking to you.

Web Design and Development

The Sales Account Manager will support the customer and produce a Final Project Specification (FPS) that outlines the design. This will contain a wireframe design. This will be handed to the Graphic Designer to produce a template for the website.

Your role will be to take the FPS and the graphic design and turn this design information into a themed content management system using either drupal (www.drupal.org) or oscommerce (www.oscommerce.com). This will require knowledge and experience of PHP, MySQL, CSS, Javascript, HTML and development using modules with content management systems.

Maintenance Work

As part of the Web Development Team, part of your role will be to review change requests from clients and make ammendments to current sites hosted by Netflare. This will require communication with the customer with occasional site visits where necessary.

  • Linux (Fedora)
  • Apache Web Server
  • Familiarity with Windows XP
  • Familiarity with Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks or similar

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Understanding of UML and object oriented programming style
  • GCSE or Recognised English Language Qualification

Renumeration

Salary: £15-25k depending on skills and experience

Pension: 5% pension contribution
